We educate individuals and the community about disability rights and responsibilities. We work together to achieve solutions and change when needed.
Individual advocacy services assist consumers in identifying barriers and developing strategies to address those barriers across areas such as housing, healthcare, employment, education, transportation, and public benefits. Services may include:
- Education on disability rights and protections (e.g., ADA, Fair Housing Act)
- Assistance with requesting reasonable accommodations
- Support in resolving disputes or navigating service systems
- Coaching in self-advocacy and decision-making
- Accompaniment or support during meetings, as requested
All activities are consumer-directed, with staff acting as facilitators—not decision-makers.
